FREAQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Do I need to be present during the inspection?
While it’s not required, we recommend attending the inspection if possible. If you can’t make it, don’t worry—we’ll provide a detailed report and are more than happy to discuss our findings over the phone. If you are able to attend, we’ll provide a summary of our findings during the last 30 minutes of the inspection.
How long will the home inspection take?
Typically, a home inspection takes between 3 to 4 hours, depending on the size and condition of the property. Larger homes or homes with complex systems may take longer. We’ll provide a more accurate estimate once we know more about the property.
How much does a home inspection cost?
The cost of a home inspection can vary based on factors such as the size and age of the home, as well as the specific services included. We offer upfront and transparent pricing, so you know exactly what you’ll be paying.
If my bank is getting the house appraised, do I still need a home inspection?
Definitely! The bank’s appraisal focuses on determining the property’s market value and is conducted for the bank’s benefit. It doesn’t thoroughly examine the home’s condition. That’s where our home inspection comes in. We work for you, providing a detailed, unbiased assessment of the property’s current condition. This thorough inspection can uncover hidden issues and help you make a fully informed decision, saving you time and money by addressing potential problems before you buy.
Should new homes be inspected?
Absolutely! A brand new house is not immune to defects or mistakes. Builders, while focused on delivering homes quickly and within budget, often rely on numerous subcontractors. Mistakes or poor workmanship from these subcontractors can easily go unnoticed if not properly checked. An independent inspection is essential to identify any issues early, giving you peace of mind and potentially saving you from costly repairs down the line.
What if I have questions after the inspection?
We’re here to help! Feel free to reach out with any questions about the report, whether it’s immediately after the inspection or long after. Your understanding is our priority.
Will I receive a report following my inspection?
Absolutely! Our comprehensive reports are usually delivered within 24 hours, ensuring you receive timely and thorough information.
Is a home inspection required?
No, a home inspection is not a legal requirement, but it is highly recommended. While it’s not mandatory, having an inspection can provide valuable insights into the condition of the property, help identify potential issues, and give you peace of mind before finalizing your purchase. It’s an important step in making an informed decision about your new home.
What to expect after scheduling my inspection?
After scheduling your inspection, you’ll receive a confirmation email with a link to your personal portal. This portal allows you to view and sign agreements, make payments, and access your inspection report once it’s ready. Prior to the inspection the inspector will reach out to introduce themselves, discuss any concerns about the property, and answer any questions you might have. You’ll also receive ongoing communication and reminders via email to keep you updated throughout the process.
